Embedding Options and Tutorial Video

If you'd like to embed your donation form into your own website, you have a few options in order to do so. We offer 3 different types of code, each of which you will input into your own website

Please note, our embeddable is available to Legacy, Starter, Team, or Enterprise Plan users only. If you're on our Free tier and are interested in upgrading for the ability to embed your donation form, check out the Upgrade page from your dashboard.

Option 1. Simple Script

The most common option will be using the "simple script"

The simple script is the least amount of code (which can help with loading time), and a very flexible way to embed it. Also, embedding using the simple script will enable you to remotely update your form. This means, once you embed with a simple script once, any update you make on the Donatlely form builder will automatically be pushed to your live donation form. This eliminates the need to re-embed the code into your site after each change.

Option 2. iFrame

iFrame is a great option if you are having difficulties with the simple script. This creates a secure form that will essentially load itself within its own frame. Though that sounds very technical, all that is to say that no other variables will mess with the form once embedded.

If you are embedding with an iFrame, you may need to play with the height of the form so as to not create a scrolling effect. If this is happening to you, please let us know.

Option 3. Advanced Script

Warning! We only recommend this for developers. This is our most flexible form version. We recommend using this form version if you'd like to take this base code, and add on functionality to it. To do this, we have an entire library of advanced form techniques that are available if you hard code them. You can find that library in the Donately CodePen page by clicking here.

Just note, any advanced techniques you add will not be saved to the form inside of the Donately dashboard. You will need to make any edits and save the form externally, on something like CodePen.

Embedding into different website platforms

If you need help embedding into your website, check out our collection of instructions for the top builders.

Though it depends on which website builder you use, you will most likely be pasting this code into an "Embed HTML" or "Custom HTML" code block. Check out a preview of your site, make sure everything looks as it should, and you're all set!
