Run a peer-to-peer fundraising campaign

Let supporters raise money on your behalf with their own pages, individually or in teams. How to set it up, what supporters do, and how you manage it.

Campaigns & fundraising2026 dashboard

Peer-to-peer fundraising lets your supporters raise money for you. Each supporter gets their own page, with their own story and goal, and the donations count towards your campaign.

Set up the campaign

Go to Campaigns → New Campaign and pick one of the peer-to-peer templates:

  • Peer-to-Peer Fundraiser, where supporters each create an individual page.
  • Peer-to-Peer Fundraiser with Teams, where supporters can also create or join a team.

Choose carefully: the campaign type is set by the template and cannot be changed afterwards. If you might want teams, pick the teams template from the start.

Fill in the campaign as usual (see Customise your campaign page) and publish it.

How supporters start fundraising

Your published campaign page carries a Create a fundraiser page call to action. Supporters click it, and:

  • On an individual campaign, they go straight to the fundraiser form.
  • On a teams campaign, they first choose whether to fundraise on their own, create a team, or join an existing one.

They enter their name and email, a title and description for their page, a goal, and optionally a photo. They do not need an account and are not asked to create a password. When they submit, their page is live immediately and they land on it, ready to share.

If the call to action isn't on your campaign page, check the Lead-In Form option on the page template. The fundraiser prompt is tied to it.

Managing fundraisers

Fundraisers in the sidebar lists every supporter page: what each has raised, its goal, progress, donor count, campaign and team.

You can filter by status, type, campaign or team, search by title or person, and export the list. Open one to see its donations, edit its title, goal, description, status or campaign, or delete it.

There is no approval step. Pages go live the moment a supporter creates one. If something is inappropriate or was made in error, archive or delete it from here. If you are running a campaign where that matters, keep an eye on the list early on.

There's no built-in messaging to fundraisers either. Open the fundraiser's owner to reach their contact record and email them from there.

Teams

On a teams campaign, a supporter can start a team or join one. The person who creates a team also gets a personal page inside it, so their own gifts still count to them as well as the team.

Teams are one level deep: a team has members, and members cannot have sub-teams.

Your campaign page has Top Fundraisers and Top Teams listings.

How donations are counted

A donation made through a supporter's page is tagged with that fundraiser, so it counts towards both their total and the campaign's. In Donations you can filter by fundraiser, and if a gift was attributed wrongly you can move it to the right campaign or fundraiser.

Can supporters edit their own page later?

Yes, but they need to activate a donor account first, at my.donately.com/activate, using the email address they gave when they created the fundraiser. From there, Fundraisers → Edit lets them change their title, description, photo and goal. See Set up your donor dashboard.

Worth telling supporters up front, because the fundraiser page itself does not have an obvious edit link. Otherwise they'll ask you to make every change.
