What's changed in Donately

If it has been a while since you last logged in, a lot of the dashboard has moved. This is the short version: what is new, where it lives, and which article to read next for each piece.

Metrics

Metrics has been rebuilt rather than restyled.

• One-time against recurring. Compare the two directly instead of reading one total, and switch the same view to a per-campaign breakdown.
• Adjustable date ranges, with breakdowns by donation size and by the device donors gave on.
• Monthly recurring revenue and donor retention are now tracked for you, so the two numbers most boards ask about are not a spreadsheet exercise.

The Tasks tab

Alerts and open action items collect in one tab instead of arriving as scattered notifications. It is the place to check when something needs your attention rather than your curiosity.

Sentinel

Sentinel is the fraud and monitoring layer, and it has two halves.

Watch shows donations arriving in real time, as a list or on a map.

Shield blocks fraudulent attempts before they reach your processor, tracks what they would have cost you in fees, and lets you add rules of your own. How Sentinel blocks card testing and chargebacks covers what an attack looks like and what you see when one is stopped.

Filtering and saved reports

Filter donations by status, amount and payment type, with everything else under More Filters. Any view you build can be saved as a report and reopened later, including ready-made ones for recurring gifts, large gifts and abandoned donors. See filter, search and save views.

Abandoned donors

Gifts that were started and never finished are now tracked as their own cohort, so you can see who abandoned a donation and follow up rather than never knowing they tried.

Donor-paid fee detail

Where donors cover processing costs, you can now see what was paid against what was actually charged, with an alert when the two drift apart. The mechanics are in donor-paid fees explained.

Refreshed campaign and form builders

Both builders have been rebuilt and can generate a first draft of your copy for you. You can attach a markdown or creative brief so that drafting stays on your brand and in your tone instead of producing generic text.

Billing

Billing is now one section with your payment details and your full history in it, rather than being spread across the account settings.

Agency and referrer accounts

Agencies, consultants and referrers managing more than one organisation get their own section for moving between the accounts they look after.
