Get donation notifications in Slack

Connect Slack and Donately posts a message to a channel of your choosing whenever a new donation comes in. It is the simplest way to give a whole team a live feel for how a campaign is going.

Connect

1. Go to Integrations and open Slack. You will see Slack isn't connected yet.
2. Select Connect Slack and approve access in Slack.
3. You are returned to the integration page.

Donately asks for two permissions: reading your channel list, so it can offer you a picker, and posting messages.

Pick your channel, or nothing posts

This step is required. A freshly connected Slack sits at Setup incomplete and posts nothing until you choose a channel and save. The banner reads Finish configuring Slack to start syncing.

In the Configuration accordion, open Channel, choose from Choose a channel…, and select Save changes. The header badge changes to Active.

If the list cannot be loaded, the control falls back to a text box for a Slack channel ID.

Pick the channel deliberately. Every donation posts, so a busy campaign in a general channel gets noisy fast. A dedicated channel is usually the right home.

What gets posted

One message per new donation. There is no digest option, no filtering by amount or campaign, and no way to change the message format.

Other settings

Connection shows the connected account and holds Reconnect Slack, which is what you use to move to a different Slack workspace.

There is no field mapping for Slack.

Check, pause and disconnect

Recent Activity on the integration page lists sync events, with Re-run this sync on a failed one.

Suspend syncing pauses posting while keeping your settings. Disconnect, in the Danger zone at the bottom of the configuration, removes the connection entirely.
