Add your Meta (Facebook) Pixel

Adding your Meta Pixel lets Facebook and Instagram ad campaigns see donation-form pageviews and conversions, which is what you need to measure ad performance and build retargeting audiences.

Before you start

You need a Meta business account with a Pixel already created. Get its ID from Events Manager: open your data source and the ID is a long number shown next to its name.

Add it to Donately

1. Go to Integrations and open Facebook Pixel.
2. Paste the ID into Facebook Pixel ID and select Save.

Turn it on per form

Saving the ID is not enough on its own. Open the form, go to the builder's Integrations section, and turn on Facebook Pixel, which reads "Send this form's donation events to your Facebook Pixel".

Until an ID is saved on the account, that toggle is locked off and reads Not set up on your account yet.

Do this for every form you want tracked.

Confirm it is firing

Make a test donation, then check Events Manager in Meta for activity on that Pixel. See Create a test donation.

Donately gives you no test button or status light for the Pixel, so Events Manager is the only confirmation. Meta's own Pixel Helper browser extension is useful here too.

Bear in mind that browser tracking protection and ad blockers stop Pixel requests, so a quiet Events Manager does not always mean the setup is wrong.

A note on what gets sent

Donately sends pageview and conversion events from the donation form. The precise event names are not documented in the dashboard, so if you are building a conversion campaign against a specific event, check what actually lands in Events Manager and configure against that.

If you also use Google Tag Manager

You can run both, but do not add the Pixel twice. If your GTM container already fires the Pixel on your site, leaving the Donately field blank avoids double-counting donations. See Google Analytics for the GTM setup.
