New CRM Filtering Options: Easier, Smarter Reporting in Donately

We’ve made big improvements to filtering and reporting across your Donately CRM to give you more control, visibility, and ease when managing your donor data.

What’s New

The filters that used to live in the left-hand column have been streamlined into a cleaner, more powerful experience. Now you can:

  • Add filters with just a click

  • Apply multiple filters at once

  • Save filtered reports directly to your dashboard

  • Set default reports for quicker views

Let’s walk through how it works.

How to Use the New Filters

  1. Click “Add a Filter”
You’ll find this new filter button at the top of your CRM data view. Click it to choose your filter type (e.g., status, date, campaign, donation amount, etc.).

  2. Build Your Filter Set
Add as many filters as you need. For example:

    • Filter donations by status

    • View records updated in the last 30 days

    • Narrow by donor type, amount range, or recurring status

  3. Click “Apply Filter”
Once you’ve selected your filters, hit the “Apply Filter” button to update your view.

  4. Save the Filtered Report
When you’re happy with the view, click the “Save” button.
Give your report a name—something clear and descriptive—then it’ll be saved under “Saved Reports” in the left-side column.

  5. Optional: Set as Default View
Want this report to be your go-to every time you open that CRM section? Click the heart icon next to the saved report to make it your default view.

You can save unlimited reports, but only one can be the default per CRM section.

Example: Track Cancelled Recurring Donations in the Last 30 Days

Let’s say you want to check every month which recurring donations were cancelled in the past 30 days. Here’s how you’d do it:

  1. Click “Add a Filter”

  2. Select “Updated At”, then choose “Relative Date” set to last 30 days

  3. Click “Apply Filter”

  4. Add another filter:
    Select “Status” and choose “Cancelled”

  5. Click “Apply Filter” again

  6. Click “Save”, and name your report something like:
“Cancelled Donations Last 30 Days (run on 1st)”

  7. On the 1st of each month, revisit this saved report to quickly see cancelled recurring donations from the last month

Why This Matters

  • No more manual filtering every time

  • Create reusable reports for specific workflows

  • Focus only on the data that matters to you

  • Get consistent insights by setting default views
